 Post joining Government - Civil Service in the year 1973, Mr. Mushtaq Malik enjoys decades of a rich experience in key administrative/ governance, and policy making corporate sector and positions in the Government of Pakistan, inter alia served in following important assignments:

- Secretary, Investment Division & Board of Investment

- Economic Minister and Financial Advisor, Embassy of Pakistan, Washington D.C.
- Represented Pakistan, Afghanistan & Nepal at World Bank/IDA forum
- Joint Secretary (External Finance), Ministry of Finance
- Managing Director, Punjab Mineral Development Corporation
- Secretary to the Government of the Punjab, Excise and Taxation
- Managing Director, Punjab Agriculture Development Corporation
- Secretary/ Director General, Environmental Protection Agency
- Secretary to the Government of the Punjab, Population Welfare
- Director of Industries and Mineral Development Department, Punjab
- Director General, Local Government & Rural Development, Punjab
- Manager Planning, State Cement Corporation of Pakistan
Besides advisory role at Samaa TV, RAVI Sundar Industrial Estate, Lahore, Siddiqsons Limited, Karachi Mr. Malik’s corporate sector assignments include directorships at Hinopak Motors, Sindh Insurance Limited, and Askari Bank Limited.
Mr. Malik holds Masters of Economics degree from Punjab University; Post Graduate, Marketing Management from Delft University Technology, Netherlands; Maters in Economics and MBA from Boston University, USA; and Investment & Project Management from Harvard University, Massachusetts, USA.
